Natalia Khazieva, a student of the UNN Institute of International Relations and World History (IIRWH), won the Third All-Russian competition for beginner translators "At the Crossroads of Cultures, Languages and Ideas".

The All-Russian competition for beginner translators is held annually by the Department of German at the Turgenev Orel State University. The competition is open to undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students. The main aim of the contest is to encourage young talents and develop students' skills and creativity in the field of translation.

This year, a total of 160 entries from Kursk, Belgorod, Tambov, Yelets, Samara, Smolensk, Tyumen, Izhevsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Murmansk and Orel were submitted for the contest. Natalia Khazieva, a fourth-year student majoring in foreign regional studies, took first place in the category ”Translation (prose). French". The student's supervisor was Olga Smirnova, Head of the IIRWH French Centre.
