UNN student wins bronze at the Sambo World Championship

Daniil Zhalilov, a first-year student of the UNN Institute of Biology and Biomedicine, won a bronze medal at the Sambo World Championship. This international event was held from October 12 to 16 in Yerevan.

Daniil competed in the 71 kg weight category. In the first duel, it took him 14 seconds to defeat an athlete from France. However, in the semi-final he lost in a hard-fought battle to an athlete from Kazakhstan. In the third fight for the bronze medal he defeated an athlete from Mongolia using a painful leg lock and took third place.
