UNN student Yuri Ivanchikov is the champion of the World Universiade 2019

Yuri Ivanchikov, a fourth-year student of the UNN Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, won a gold medal as a member of the Russian national bandy team at the World Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. Yuri was the team’s goalkeeper. The competition began on March 1 with a victory over the team of Kazakhstan (9-1). Next, the Norwegian team was defeated with the same score (9-1), and the Swedish team was beaten in the third game (7-2). In the semifinals, the Finnish team was routed with the score 11-1, and in the finals, the Russian national team defeated the Swedes and won the gold medals.
