UNN students and faculty members awarded at the «Journalist of the Year 2025» competition

The award ceremony for the «Journalist of the Year 2025» competition laureates took place in Nizhny Novgorod. The event was organised by the House of National Unity and the Union of Journalists of the Nizhny Novgorod region, with the support of the regional government. The competition aims to support and develop journalism in the region and is being held for the fourth time.

A total of 245 applications were submitted in various categories, including Print Media, TV Journalist, Radio Journalist, Online Media, Photojournalist, and others. The winners were greeted by Nizhny Novgorod Governor Gleb Nikitin and Legislative Assembly Chairman Evgeny Lyulin.

As part of the ceremony, the title "Honoured Journalist of the Nizhny Novgorod region" was awarded to Svetlana Aslanova (Novatorova), Head of the Laboratory of Television and Radio Journalism at the UNN Institute of Philology and Journalism. In the nomination from the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the professional work of Andrey Rukhlin, a correspondent of the AIF news service in Nizhny Novgorod, was noted. Andrey is a student of the Journalism Department at the UNN Institute of Philology and Journalism.
