The call for applications for the International Student Research Paper Competition “Modern Mechanisms of Financial Security” is now open. The competition is open to students of Bachelor, Master and Specialist programmes and to postgraduate students from all areas of study.

The topics of the competition cover an extensive range of both theoretical and applied issues, such as:

- Analysis and modeling of phishing techniques in social networks.

- Analysis of motivations and mechanisms of youth involvement in financial crimes.

- Implementation of anti-fraud mechanisms in the field of AML/CFT: current practices and problems.

- Harmonization of legislative and law enforcement approaches of the BRICS countries regarding payment transactions using digital assets and digital currencies.
- Using blockchain technology to increase transparency and security of financial product supply chains.

- International experience in identifying, prevention and suppression of financial crime involving young people and minimising the risks of their involvement in these activities.

- Mechanisms for development of the international movement on financial security.

- Security risk assessment of mobile banking applications on Android and iOS platforms.

- Legal mechanism of countering the use of virtual assets in illegal activities: problems and solutions.

- Application of artificial intelligence technologies in ensuring financial security.

- Countering the use of payment instruments of dropping for unlawful purposes.

- Development of a model for risk assessment of financial transactions involving virtual assets.

- Developing a transaction anomaly detection system using machine learning to prevent fraudulent transactions.

- The role of international organisations in the context of AML/CFT.

- Digital transformation of the financial monitoring system.

The competition is held in 2 stages. Papers complying with the following requirements are accepted for participation:

- relevance and research novelty (including being practice-oriented)

- abstracts up to 7000 characters (with spaces)

- the text is not less than 70% original

- at least 5 literature sources.

Competition deadlines:

- Submission of applications: April 15 - June 15, 2025.

- Announcement of the participants of the in-person stage: August 15, 2025.

- In-person stage (conference at Lobachevsky University): until September 30, 2025.

- Competition winner's presentation at the Olympiad finals: September 30, 2025.
