On May 22, UNN students from Egypt and Yemen took part in the 10th International festival of culinary art "Arzamas Goose". The festival was organized by the Arzamas instrument-making plant together with the Department of International Relations of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Over 50 international students from 20 foreign countries including Algeria, Angola, Afghanistan, Benin, Gabon, Guinea, India, China, Congo, Morocco, Syria, Turkey represented Nizhny Novgorod region's leading universities at the festival. 

Lobachevsky University students tried their hand at cooking master-classes, attended the exhibition of local craftsmen and farmers, and also presented their national dances on the main stage of the festival. 

On June 1, an award ceremony took place at the UNN House of Friendship and Cultural Diversity, where the participants of the "Arzamas Goose" festival were awarded commemorative diplomas and received gifts from Olga Guseva, Director of the Department of International Relations of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, who thanked students for their active participation in the festival and other international events. 

Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted: 

"Participation of international students in Nizhny Novgorod cultural and entertainment events, regional festivals and holidays opens up new horizons of intercultural exchange and cross-cultural communication for the students and all Nizhny Novgorod residents. All these are important components in the development of educational exports. Lobachevsky University, where students from more than a hundred countries are studying, pays special attention to socio-cultural aspects of internationalization of education. Thanks to the support of the regional Government's Department of International Relations it is possible to ensure that these processes are scaled up at the regional level".
