A ceremony to unveil the "We Are Together. Students of the Higher School of Rehabilitation and Human Health of Lobachevsky University were among the participants of the opening ceremony. They also assisted the organisers in preparing and holding the event as volunteers: they met the delegations of the competition teams at Strigino Airport and the railway station, accompanied them to the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium and provided assistance in preparing the opening ceremony at the stadium.

The organisers commended the students of the UNN Higher School of Rehabilitation and Human Health for their volunteering assistance.

The participants were welcomed by the Secretary of the Presidential Council for Physical Culture and Sport Marat Filippov, who read out a greeting message from President Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region Evgeny Lyulin and President of the Russian Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov.

Around 4,500 athletes will take part in all stages of the summer paralympic multi-sport tournament. Competitions will be held in 22 sports included in the programme of the Summer Paralympic Games and will last until November 8, 2023. Athletes will be competing for more than 548 sets of medals.
