UNN team wins gold in ski orienteering

The Lobachevsky University team took part in the All-Russian Student Orienteering Competition held in Lyubertsy (Moscow region) from February 4 to February 8. For several days, the strongest athletes from all over the country demonstrated their abilities in skiing disciplines at different distances in Tomilinsky Forest Park.

Ekaterina Stepanova was the star of the whole competition, collecting all the gold medals in sprint, classic and relay races together with Elena Antipova and Alexandra Gulevskikh at the distance of 4,900 metres. The other members of the university team - Anna Semibabnova, Kirill Sibiryakov, Sergei Getmansky and Andrei Korzhuk - should be also noted for their contribution to the UNN team’s success. Thanks to their joint efforts, UNN took second place in the team event.
