The 25th quarter-finals of the ICPC World University Programming Team Championship and the finals of the Volga region and South of Russia were held at the Saratov National Research State University.

Lobachevsky University was represented by 8 teams of 3 persons each. A total of 24 students from the UNN Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics took part in the contest.

The participants had to solve 14 problems of different complexity levels. UNN students demonstrated a high level of excellence and successfully completed the competition's tasks.

At the end of the competition,  35 of the 82 student teams were awarded diplomas, including 6 teams from Lobachevsky University. However, according to the rules of the Championship, only a limited number of teams from each university may participate at final stages. Therefore, out of the 6 UNN teams that received diplomas, only the best three teams will represent Lobachevsky University at the semi-finals of the World Programming Championship in Saint Petersburg:

  • Team Nizhny Novgorod State University #5: Vladislav Devlikamov, Alexander Lebedev, Alexei Petukhov;
  • Team Nizhny Novgorod State University #2:  Valeria Ryabchikova, Konstantin Larin, Roman Mitin;
  • Team Nizhny Novgorod State University #1:  Artyom Sukharev, Mikhail Burdukov, Denis Kulandin.

The coach of the UNN teams is Alexey Shmelev, an instructor at the Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics.
