Saltykov-Shchedrin, the 130th anniversary of the 1896 All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition held in Nizhny Novgorod, the 90th anniversary of Gorky's death, and the 150th anniversary of the birth of E.P. Peshkova.
For the first time in the conference's history, interdisciplinary roundtables "Studying the Creative Heritage of M. Gorky: Challenges in University and School Education" and "Methods of Teaching M. Gorky's Works in the 21st Century School" will be held, where leading educators and researchers will discuss the role of M. Gorky in the modern educational process. Conference participants and guests will be invited to attend the opening of the exhibition projects "Gorky and... others," a joint project of the All-Russian Association of A.M. Gorky Museums.
The conference will bring together 150 researchers, including philologists, museum and library workers, representatives of leading scientific centres, universities, and museums from Russia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Abkhazia, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, China, South Korea, and Italy.
