As part of the 29th All-Russian Conference of Young Chemists, an agreement on cooperation was signed between Lobachevsky University and the United Catalyst Technologies group of companies. The document was signed by Oleg Trofimov, UNNRector, and Boris Malyshkin, General Director of the United Catalyst Technologies. Since the beginning of 2025, the industrial partner has been working closely with Lobachevsky University. Over the past 1.5 years of active cooperation, the company has supported two All-Russian conferences of young chemists with international participation and established a special nomination “For the best report” for conference participants. A number of open lectures on industrial catalysis and engineering were held for students and faculty members of the UNN Faculty of Chemistry. In the near future, the company plans to establish a new unit at the Research Institute of Chemistry of Lobachevsky University, the Research Laboratory of Industrial Catalysis.

One of the key aspects of the strategic partnership between the university and United Catalyst Technologies is the training of professionals for the chemical industry in the Nizhny Novgorod region and across Russia.

The United Catalyst Technologies group was established in 2018. In 2021, the company launched its own production facility for industrial catalytic systems in Nizhnekamsk. Currently, United Catalyst Technologies is one of the largest producers of catalysts and adsorbents for the chemical industry in Russia. By early 2026, the group of companies had completed nearly 200 industrial deliveries of catalysts and adsorbents. The company is currently constructing a new facility, the Privolzhsky Catalyst Plant, in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
