UNN Vice-Rector gives a lecture as part of the Young Diplomat School project
Alexander Bedny, UNN Vice-Rector for International Affairs, presented his lecture titled "Export of Education as a Humanitarian Dimension of International Relations" as part of the Young Diplomat School project. The project is implemented on the initiative of the Department of International Relations of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It helps to bring talented school students to Nizhny Novgorod’s leading universities to pursue careers in international relations.
In his lecture, Alexander Bedny discussed today's system of higher education, its features and current trends. Special attention was given to the concept of "internationalisation" in education, and the history of its emergence and development.
Dr. Bedny also presented the statistical data showing the situation on the education market in the Russian Federation since the end of the last century up to the present and described Lobachevsky University's key activities aimed to attract international students and develop international cooperation. After the lecture, all participants commented on the importance and relevance of the topic and expressed the hope that there would be more meetings like this in the future.
