Home - News RSS feed - UNN wins the competition for upgrading its facilities and infrastructure

Lobachevsky University has won the competition of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science for upgrading the facilities and equipment of organisations engaged in R&D. UNN will set up an engineering centre for priority areas of science and technology development.

The amount of the subsidy is 250 million roubles. The money will be disbursed in installments over two years - 2025 and 2026. The funds can be invested in the purchase of equipment and software, renovation of premises, staff development, development of additional professional programmes, patent services and transportation services.

The activities of the UNN Engineering Centre will be aimed at developing knowledge-intensive technologies for obtaining high-purity substances for microelectronics and optics (freons, gallium arsenide, indium antimonide, etc.); development of medical materials for wound and burn healing; development of polymer and coating materials; development and production of special-purpose alloys and ceramics.One of the important conditions for entering the competition was to secure extra-budgetary funding.Practice-oriented approach and close cooperation with industry partners made it possible to attract additional funds and to win this competition. Lobachevsky University was supported by ORGKHIM Biochemical Holding Management Company, Polyketon LLC, Foliplast LLC, RusVinyl LLC,  Nefteprominvest LLC and a number of other companies. The overall amount of funds from extra-budgetary sources totalled 110 million roubles.

According to the results of the evaluation of competitive applications, we scored 95 points and took second place among 77 participants, including Russia’s leading universities.
