Winter School on Programming for RISC-V
The practical intensive training session “Winter School on Programming for RISC-V” opened at Lobachevsky University on February 3. It is already a traditional event: the Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics (IITMM) holds the school every year. This year, the school was organised in a new format.
“I am pleased to welcome all those who take part in our Winter School. Traditionally, it gathers a large number of participants. We wanted to change something, to find new options. This time, we have decided that the school will be project-based. The lectures are now online. All of you have made the right choice to spend your time for learning something, making new acquaintances, trying your hand at something new. The coming five days will be a hands-on experience - you will have to solve some tasks under the guidance of your supervisors. All projects are in one way or another related to system programming, but the topics are quite diverse”, noted Iosif Meyerov, Associate Professor at the UNN Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics.
In addition to Lobachevsky University, several school sites are open at Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, and Minsk. Taking part are 2nd-4th year students of Russian universities, including those from UNN.
The participants were welcomed by Nikolai Zolotykh, Director of the UNN Institute of Information Technology, Mathematics and Mechanics.
“The school is focused on high-performance computing and programming in general. For IITMM, this subject is one of the strategic ones. It is related to software development, artificial intelligence and other areas. I am sure that you will benefit from the school classes. I would like to offer our special thanks to the company YADRO that has been actively investing in education and science at UNN. It is our strategic partner, to whom we are very grateful”, said Nikolai Zolotykh.
At the end of the intensive training session, the students will present their projects.
