The second semi-final of the Umnik-2023 competition programme organised by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology was held at Lobachevsky University. The contestants were young scientists, students and postgraduates of UNN. The age of the competition participants is from 18 to 30 years old. Participation in the Umnik programme gives young researchers the opportunity to receive a grant of 500,000 roubles for implementing their research and innovation project.

The programme covers the following priority areas:

• digital technologies, medicine and health-saving technologies;
• new materials and chemical technologies;
• new devices and intelligent production technologies;
• biotechnology;
• energy conservation.

The Expert Council of the semi-final selection has reviewed 8 applications from representatives of Lobachevsky University. The finals of the Umnik competition programme will be held in late October at the Ankudinovka Technopark in Nizhny Novgorod.
