UNN has a long list sporting achievements with UNN alumni including former Olympiads, National Champions and World Champions in Athletics, Badminton and Ice Hockey. UNN is a place for you to achieve you goals whatever your sport or interests with access to our sporting facilities and dedicated Sports Faculty.
UNN views sport as an important activity for students to participate in. Sport not only helps students settle into their new surroundings but can help fight the symptoms of stress, encourages a healthy life style and helps professional development through teamwork, the list of benefits are endless. More importantly, especially for our International Students, UNN believes sport can help bond friendships and give students a platform to achieve on a higher scale.
If you are a degree student a Sports Timetable will form part of your overall degree mark whatever your subject of which you will be graded by your teacher.
If you are a non-degree student or you do not want to attend sports classes within the framework of your programme you can choose to attend a different scheduled sports class twice per week and be graded by your sports coach rather than your teacher. To do this you must pay the coaching fees. You may also attend these sports classes as a leisure activity.
If you are a professional sports person you may be able to attend sports classes free of charge, whilst still counting towards your degree. For this to apply you should try out for a UNN team by contacting the relevant coach to your sport.
