According to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 that have just been released, Lobachevsky University has confirmed its status as one of the world leaders in Natural Sciences with a position in the range 401-450. It retains traditionally strong positions in the subject areas of Physics and Astronomy (301-350) and Mathematics (401-450).

To compile the ranking in 2021, the QS team analyzed more than 13.9 million unique articles and about 81 million citations, which allowed 1 453 educational and research institutions to be included in the ranking in 51 subjects in 5 subject areas.
