On March 15, the Simulation Center for Continuing Medical Education was opened at the UNN Center for Innovative Development of Medical Instrument Engineering. The opening ceremony was attended by Anton Shaklunov, Health Minister of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Evgeny Chuprunov, UNN Rector, Galina Ivanova, Chief Specialist in Medical Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and Sergey Romanov, Director of the Volga District Medical Center, Head of the Department of Experimental and Nuclear Medicine at the UNN Institute of Biology and Biomedicine. The UNN Simulation Center for Continuing Medical Education is a modern postgraduate medical education center that will provide world-class professional training for medical doctors of different specialties, paramedics and medical nurses. The key task of modern postgraduate medical education is to create the necessary conditions for developing a wide range of competencies and sound practical skills in medical personnel. At the same time, such training should be carried out without posing any risks of harm to the patients. This type of training includes the development of the ability to make quick decisions and perform impeccably a number of manipulations and interventions, especially in emergency conditions. With an extensive arsenal of simulators for imitating practical actions in realistic conditions and computer modeling of all kinds of clinical situations, new horizons open for the practical training of healthcare professionals. The UNN Simulation Center with a total area of more than 1000 square meters is equipped with the most high-tech equipment available, where doctors and nurses will improve their theoretical knowledge and gain new practical skills. This is the first center in the Nizhny Novgorod region that has the equipment of such level. It will serve to provide continuing education to Nizhny Novgorod medical professionals and to healthcare personnel from neighboring regions.
